A charming Victorian house with a delightful garden overlooking Barnes Pond.
A perfectly located Victorian House currently laid out as three flats but could easily be transformed into a wonderful and spacious five bedroom family house. The current separate living arrangements mean that one could live in it while the renovation takes place.
There is room here for a playroom, a study, and a big kitchen, as well as a big reception room. The only squabble will be over who gets the best views - the back garden is south facing, with mature fruit trees, and a separate box tree garden area filled with white roses. There is also a long, covered, side return for escorting bicycles and kit through to the back of the house.
Upstairs, it will comfortably convert to five bedrooms and four bathrooms, and the master suite would be a joy - views out over Barnes pond for the master bedroom, and over the apple and pear-tree blossom at the back. I'm not sure London living really gets better than this.
The Crescent is one of the most sought after roads in Barnes, running alongside the pond overlooking the Green, at the heart of this immensely popular village. Some of London's top state and private schools are located here, including St Paul's and The Harrodian, and there is a wide range of restaurants, boutiques and gastropubs to choose from. Barnes Common provides a huge open space, and the river provides all sorts of entertainment, peaking with University Boat Race, which takes pride of place in the Barnes Calendar together with the annual Barnes Fair. Communications are excellent: Barnes Station has six trains an hour into Clapham Junction and Waterloo. Five frequent bus routes serve the three Underground lines from Hammersmith tube (District, Piccadilly & Hammersmith & City lines). Both Gatwick (by train) and Heathrow are easily accessed, as are the M3/M4 motorways
